
NICUȘOR SILAGHI
Doctoral professor at the Academy of Music „Ghe. Dima” from Cluj-Napoca, Nicusor Sliaghi has been teaching the violin since 1991, when he was an associate professor within the study unit. Since 1981, Nicusor Silaghi has been a member of the Transylvanian Quartet, the Sibiu State Philharmonic and the Cluj-Napoca State Philharmonic.
Throughout his career, Nicusor Silaghi has given over 1500 recitals with the Transylvanian Quartet in the country and abroad, numerous recitals and solo concerts, with over 20 first auditions and first absolute auditions, radio-TV recordings, CDs, etc. He was also a concertmaster of the “Romania Festival” and “Internazionale d’Italia” orchestras.
Among the collaborators on stage we will find Cristina Anghelescu (violin), Marin Cazacu (cello), Dana Borsan (piano), Daniel Goiti (piano), Mihai Ungureanu (piano), Dan Grigore (piano), Valentin Gheorghiu (piano) , Serban Lupu (violin), Aurelian Octav Popa (clarinet), but also soloists from abroad, such as Rudolph Firkushny – UK (piano), Michel Bourdoncle – France (piano), Rita Sloan – USA (piano), Erik Friedmann – USA (violin), Luz Leskowitz – Austria (violin), Sharon Bezaly – Israel (flute), Jeremy Menuhin – UK (piano), Vladimir Mendelsohn (viola), Aaral Arad (viola) – USA, Janos Balint – Hungary (flute), Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti etc.
Nicusor Silaghi has been present on the stages of important festivals in the USA and Europe, such as: Aspen Music Festival, Colorado (USA), Ravinia Festival (Chicago, USA), Aldeburgh Festival (UK), Bath Festival (Yehudi Menuhin) (UK), Kuhmo Festival (Finland), Salzburg (Austria), Aix en Provence (France) etc. and has given concerts on many important stages in Europe.
